Rover Crew

 "SERVICE"

Rovers are the senior branch of OSG scouting, so adults may participate.  As Robert Baden-Powell originally intended, there is no upper age limit, so anyone 18+ may join. All OSG section leaders are required to be registered as Rovers, but not all Rovers are leaders.

Rovers are organized into self-governing Crews as part of the overall scout group.  We also have one combined Rover Crew for all adult scouts in Brooklyn that scouts under the name “718th Brooklyn Jolly Rogers”.

The Rovers meet once a month for regular meetings and aim for one outing or service project per month. The Rovering program is based upon two key works by B-P: Scouting for Boys and Rovering to Success.

Activities include but not limited to: Camping, Community Service, Knife and Fire safety, Knots, First Aid, Nature Identification, Orienteering and Hiking.
