We teach democratic cooperation, independence and social justice in a positive learning environment

Brooklyn Outdoor Service Guides is an inclusive organization dedicated to providing a traditional outdoor service community program. We aim to reach all Brooklyn youth and their families, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, faith, or economic circumstances.

We currently have 3 Troops (and growing!) with participants ranging from 2 to 18 years. There is also an Adult Troop. Brooklyn Outdoor Service Guides and their families actively participate in organizing camping trips, nature and culture outings, service projects, fundraising and regular meetings.

We are associated with Outdoor Service Guides (OSG), a nationwide back-to-basics, inclusive scouting organization. The OSG is a member of the World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS).

OSG Mission

The mission of Outdoor Service Guides is to foster an inclusive environment where individuals of all ages develop outdoor skills, connect across generations, and engage in community service.

Everybody Scouts
OSG believes that all people and all families should have an equal place in the scouting movement. We welcome scouts and their families as they come to us, and we will do our best to make scouting and its activities accessible to every child or adult who wishes to join.  We welcome everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion (or no religion), or other differentiating factors.  We believe that scouting is for everybody. We welcome those who have scouted a long time and those who have never tried scouting before joining us.
